CE-Real was established to assist manufacturers and importers of electronic equipment (mostly radio- and telecommunications products) to enter the European market in compliance with current pan-European Regulations and Directives.
Since the expansion of May1, 2004 the European Union consists of 25 counties (29 including the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries). The total population is 455 million people; a large market!
Where in the past it was required to obtain formal approvals from the regulatory authorities in each country, over recent years entry to the European markets was very much simplified.
Compliance with the relevant Directives and correct CE marking will allow products to be placed on the market in all of the European Union- and the EFTA countries.
Due to the simplification of the system we have seen a tendency to over-simplify the process and we fear that not everyone understands that declared compliance might involve more than just placing the CE marking.
It should be noted that liability for the conformity of the products is placed with the manufacturer himself, so non-compliance can have severe consequences!
There are clear requirements
· to create and maintain a Technical File
· to provide a Declaration of Conformity
· for the contents in the user manual
· for marking on the packaging
CE-Real can advise and assist you to make sure you do comply with the relevant Directive(s) and will keep doing so as long as this is required.
